DR. JAMES L. IZANEC

James L. Izanec, M.D. joined Allied GI Associates in July, 2007. Dr. Izanec graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University in 1997 and then earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 2001, where he was the student body president. He completed his internship and residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Graduate Hospital - Drexel University College of Medicine, also in Philadelphia. He has been active in research, and has numerous publications in Gastroenterology, the American Journal of Gastroenterology, Digestive Disease and Science, and the American Journal of Physiology.

Dr. Izanec is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of American, the American Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopies, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease. Dr. Izanec specializes in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

Dr. Izanec heads the clinical research program at Allied Gastrointestinal Associates. At any given time, AGA participates in a number of clinical trials.
